The fable of porcupine

Dear brothers and sisters as the year is rounding out and we’re looking forward to living together in the coming years, I feel good to share the fable of the porcupines to highlight the importance of staying together despite our differences in any way.

*The Fable of Porcupine.*

It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold.
.
The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm.

This way they covered &
protected themselves;
but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions.
.
After a while, they decided to distance themselves one from the other & they began to die, alone & frozen.
.
So they had to make a choice..

Either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together.

They learned to live with the little wounds and pains caused by the close relationship with their companions in order to receive the warmth & heat that came from the others. This way they were able to survive.

The moral here is that *the best family group is not the one that is made up of perfect brothers, sisters, cousins, aunties and uncles, but by each individual member learning to live with the imperfections of others & yet admire the other person’s good qualities.*

May we find it better to be surrounded by warm pokes than be frozen in solitude.

*May the love that brought us together bind us together and keep us healthy and strong enough to stand the storms, the heat and all the changing weathers and seasons of life, as God grants us the grace to share in this journey of life together.*

Capture the moment, live your life to the fullest and choose happiness in all.
